Grave Goods And Other Pottery, posted on Mon Apr 29 20:01:15 2024

The potter's workshop on Tsort Road has had a change of ownership after Ptep-Ptip-Ptop left town, pursued by a number of hand-ex-maidens with grape peelers. (Fun fact: grape peelers can be used to peel all sorts of things, not just grapes!)

Pthalos, the new owner, is now encouraging all comers to try their hand at pottery - he has provided tools and a range of traditional Djelian designs for you to use.

May your work accompany you or the person of your choice into the afterlife!

Several things were getting confused about their names and plurals. Specifically:

* Fluffy ribbon chokers are now properly jewellery.

* When you have more than one tachibo, they are now two (or more) tachibo, rather than being tachiboes. You can refer to them as tachibo, tachibos, or tachiboes.

* Dead chickens, ducks, and eels can now be properly referred to as "corpses".

In addition, you can now buy newspaper boxes from your spulluf, if you have or can summon a spulluf. If you can't, ignore th...

* Beard Day beards can now be removed. They will vanish when you do so, but if this makes you sad then you can always su for another one.

* The Morporkian Carriages game will now tell you who won when the game has finished. Moreover, you can now end a game that's got "stuck" by making sure that all players who are still in the room have resigned (see the helpfile attached to the game for more details).

* Decoratable items now have the adjective "decorated" or "undecorated" as appropriate. Mo...

The cellar scriptorium of the Temple of Gapp in Genua is now accessible. Guillaume Bindere works there, and he would prefer that you not bother him so that he can finish his novel in peace. However, please do feel free to bother him by getting him to make custom prayer books for you, because quite frankly the Disc can wait a bit longer for his novel.

Wouldst tha like thy fortune told? By a SPOOKY fortune-teller? Then hie thee fearfully to Lancre Town, where Eldritch Ethel awaits, and tha'll unlock the deepest secrets of the heavens and what they hold for THY future.

(Disclaimer: may or may not involve horrible death. Further disclaimer: all fortunes are for entertainment purposes and should not be taken as actual witchery, because the Witch of Lancre Town does not hold with doing this sort of thing except for lots of scumble.)

Horse-loving individuals of a charitable nature may wish to find Galsworthy Prebble in the streets of Ankh-Morpork, and give him some money. Perhaps buy a T-shirt or a badge to show your support for the Ankh-Morpork Equine Welfare Society. Bring a spare hat so he can make it suitable for your horse to wear. Unless you don't have a horse, in which case bring a friend with a horse.

One of the long-standing problems that Djinn's Flying Carpets, on Scoone Avenue in Ankh-Morpork, was having with their supply of flying carpets has been fixed. At least one remains.

(Some other carpets can also be found elsewhere.)

* Player-made wooden rings are now slightly less ridiculously durable than they were.

* Newly made Uberwaldean walking sticks are now "walking sticks" instead of just "sticks".

* You now need to be holding a saw in order to saw rivings, rather than just having it in the room. On the other hand, sawing multiple rivings at once now behaves a little better.

* Some new wood types have been added in various places wood is sold.
