The Times They Are A Chan-djinn, posted on Tue Nov 5 19:34:01 2024

The following changes have been made to weapons created by Jassi the Inferno:

- The talisman and culture bonus requirements for ordering and gifting the weapons have been lowered.

- There is no longer a health cost for activating the flame weapons. To compensate for this, the calculations that determine the duration added for each activation has been adjusted to prevent players from infinitely extending the flaming function.

- There is no longer a skillcheck to activate the flaming effect o...

Grave Goods And Other Pottery, posted on Mon Apr 29 20:01:15 2024

The potter's workshop on Tsort Road has had a change of ownership after Ptep-Ptip-Ptop left town, pursued by a number of hand-ex-maidens with grape peelers. (Fun fact: grape peelers can be used to peel all sorts of things, not just grapes!)

Pthalos, the new owner, is now encouraging all comers to try their hand at pottery - he has provided tools and a range of traditional Djelian designs for you to use.

May your work accompany you or the person of your choice into the afterlife!

Following the re-discovery of the Eritian Desert ruins, a few adjustments have been made to make the player experience a little smoother:

- Jassi's forge now has a custom helpfile that should help with the ordering syntax, rather than a generic "forge" helpfile. Use "help here" in the forge to view it.

- Jassi will now give you a reminder of which special item he needs if you try to give him the wrong item.

- Presenting a djinn weapon to another player will now check against their unmodi...

Deep within the Eritian Desert, the ever-shifting sands have uncovered a decades-old trail to a ruined and forgotten settlement.

Several of the beings within this settlement still live, going about their daily routines in service of long-departed masters. Others have survived but with a rather less cooperative disposition.

There are lots of new things to discover that I don't want to spoil, but I invite you to explore this new area and hope you have fun with it! Many items have an associate...

Far away, sisters and brothers of the desert have divined that sand is not quite as abrasive anymore.

Enjoy.

Ptune Pturban in the Djelibeybi Bazaar has decided to expand her sartorial offerings and now sells bespoke hijabs as well as veils. Her custom veils have also undergone some changes, but this will only affect new veils ordered after this blog post goes live. Any existing veils that have previously been purchased from Ptune will be unaffected.

I've added a help file for hijabs (including the non-custom ones that are in the normal stock list) to indicate the options you have for wearing them.

After Careful Examination..., posted on Sun Feb 26 07:23:47 2023

I've made a few more changes to the DJB Language School to address some long-standing bugs. The two most noticeable changes are as follows:

1) If your teacher finishes their shift, or you are forced to log off, during your final exam, then your exam paper will now remember who you are and which questions you have already answered. You can log off without penalty and return when your teacher is available to finish and hand in your exam. In addition, if you somehow manage to lose your exam pape...

I've fixed a number of bugs and made a couple of adjustments in and around Djelibeybi. Some will have more of an impact on your day-to-day play than others, so I do suggest reading this one carefully.

- The language school textbooks should no longer have more than one word with the exact same Djelian translation, meaning players no longer have to guess which is the right word when given the translation and asked for the original word.

- Textbooks for learning the Klatchian language should...

* Title changers now have a "check" command which will show you your current title with the colour codes.

* Water buffalo no longer spawn in the rainforest; gaurs spawn instead. Water buffalo are still available in the appropriate habitat.

* Flatulus and Aegadon have finally consented to be (respectfully) fingered.

* Alethelegeios now sells talkers in a much more obvious way.

* Benches in Ephebe no longer hide items placed on them.

* Tortoises will now accept gifts of lettuce.

* The clock i...

Chefet, the Dog-Headed God of Metalworking, has decreed that the doors to His temple are to be thrown open to the public. Visitors to this sacred place (conveniently located off Petulia Avenue, Ephebe) are invited to witness the masterful feats of metalworking conducted in His honour and to fill the temple coffers by purchasing one of the many exquisite items crafted by His faithful. Those who wish to try their hand at creating fine works of their own are welcome to make use of the forging faci...
