If you are using Mushclient and find yourself unable to connect to Discworld later today, we advise that you go to File => World properties, where you may find a button "refresh cached IP", which you should press!
Explanation: the MUD is always reachable on discworld.starturtle.net, but to deal with network issues, we sometimes have to change which IP this address points to.

We are aware that there is a problem where players repeatedly get disconnected, and are discussing solutions with the ISP.
For the time being, we have implemented some functionality to protect players from dying in combat when a disconnect is detected by marking them as unconscious. This code is still in beta, and therefore may still have some flaws, but we are rolling it out now because we hope that it will help you.

Previously the powers were split at 5, 8, 10 and 15 votes; we have now collapsed these into two categories which are gained at 5 and 8 votes respectively (note that 5 votes are required to be elected in the first place).
