The XP reward for sailing has been rebalanced to bring it more in line with other game systems. In particular, it now takes into account the duration of your voyage, in order to ensure that crews of all speeds are given a fair reward for their time.

I've put further details below, but I also want to explain the thinking behind this change, and make it clear what will and will not happen in response to player feedback.

Firstly, the reason for the change. This is a high-XP mission, which means ...

A bug in the baby kraken pet has been fixed, and so interactions between these pets and other wearable pets will now work more consistently. Specifically, wearable pets are intended to attack each other when you wear more than one of them. Before the bug was fixed, you could stop this from happening by wearing the other pet first and the baby kraken second. This inconsistency has been removed, and so the attack will now happen regardless of the order you wear them in.

* A small bug has been fixed in the SS Unsinkable's dragons, which will affect people with very low skills. There was meant to be a skillcheck to see whether you could see any information at all about a dragon's status, but the bug meant that this skillcheck was always succeeding. Wranglers without the skill to pass this check will no longer be able to see the abovementioned information.

* Relatedly, a new command - "check <dragon> [status]" has been added to the dragons to let wranglers see th...

Several sailing-related bugs have been fixed:

Hitting a forward current at the end of a voyage will no longer make the SS Unsinkable leap magically over the port and get stuck on land. If the current would have taken you into port, your voyage will now be correctly completed.

The difficulty of tying crates down was previously very random. It now scales with the number of crates you're trying to tie, though the overall range of difficulty remains the same. This means that people with lower sk...

The sailing leaderboard has been reset. I've also undone the xp nerf from a while ago and reduced the hp of sea monsters by about 25%.

Fruitbats and mounts and other living followers should now be removed from the SS Unsinkable properly after the mission ends, even if they aren't following you.

The bug with gold and red coral rings that made them mess up your buoyancy if you wore them into the CTF arena has been fixed. (Note that if your buoyancy is already messed up, it will still be messed up and you will have to get a liaison (or me) to fix it.)

The Ephebian smugglers need this rush delivery on the other end of the Circle Sea in four hours, and only the smuggler fleet's fastest and least reliable ship, the dragon-powered SS Unsinkable, can make it there in time.

To make it across, four players must cooperate to steer the ship, wrangle the dragons into behaving, put out fires and repair any holes in the hull, search the storerooms for supplies to do all of the above, and perhaps even fight off a sea monster - all while contending against...
