Skeleton Staff, posted on Fri Mar 31 12:05:04 2023 | Posted by: Kadath | Category: Guilds | In a move appropriate to his profession, the renowned necromancer Grisald has posthumously made some adjustments to his Reanimated Guardian spell:
- Raising a skeleton warrior will now imbue it with a modest amount of skill in traversing difficult terrain. This should help skeletons to keep up with their masters in a few specific locations. Grisald advises that he tried to extend this benefit to swimming, but apparently there are 'too many holes'.
- Wizards will now be notified when the magics holding their skeleton warrior together won't last much longer.
- Wizards controlling a skeleton warrior can now 'relinquish control over skeleton' to prematurely end the spell. The magic holding the skeleton together will immediately start to deteriorate and the skeleton should disappear shortly afterwards. Grisald reiterates that he takes no responsibility to what happens to the wizard in the intervening period of time. Control can be relinquished regardless of whether the skeleton is in the same room or not, which should prevent instances of lost skeletons preventing the user from creating a replacement.
