Specifically, from now on, only the previous tenant and anyone they "allow"ed in the property will be able to remove things during the auction period.
There are several reasons for this change. It provides a "grace period" for players who have gone inactive or run out of money during an unexpected absence from the Disc, allowing them or their cohabitants to move their belongings to somewhere safe while the auction is running its course. This allows expensive and/or sentimental items to be saved before a new owner takes possession of the property and becomes the de facto owner of all the contents. It also prevents the looting of houses that often occurs within minutes of them going on sale, which has meant that the prior owner had no chance of recovering their belongings. |
