* Player-made wooden rings are now slightly less ridiculously durable than they were.

* Newly made Uberwaldean walking sticks are now "walking sticks" instead of just "sticks".

* You now need to be holding a saw in order to saw rivings, rather than just having it in the room. On the other hand, sawing multiple rivings at once now behaves a little better.

* Some new wood types have been added in various places wood is sold.

Playershop money changers have some new features!

First, for shop owners, the 'withdraw' command now allows you to withdraw multiple denominations at once by separating them with ", " (both the comma and space are required). So for example you can "withdraw 10 crowns, 5 rhinu from changer". This has actually been available for a while, but now it's officially announced. The only catch is that for Ankh-Morpork money it's recommended to use the area name (eg "Ankh-Morpork pence" or "am dollars"...

A few specific tanneries in the Sto Plains and Ramtops regions now stock leather tooling equipment. This will allow you to add text and patterns to leather items, or those made of similar enough material. Two pattern books and several loose tooling pattern sheets are available in various locations and more are expected to start appearing as additional enterprising shopkeepers look to get in on this new avenue of income.

Another magical experiment by the Bes Pelargic wizards has gone wrong. Your intrepid reporter isolated the head researcher responsible for the accident for an exclusive interview.

Q: Do you think that perhaps -

A: Take this reporter back and bring me a better reporter.

The interview ended at this point. However, the head researcher is available in the Bes Pelargic wizards' guild again for further questions.

Skill Changes, posted on Sun Mar 26 20:25:22 2023

Hello all,

We have made a number of small changes to the skill tree and to some guild

primaries:

* We have removed fighting.range.bow, and merged existing levels into the

fighting.range.fired skill, considering the relative XP costs of both skills to

replace players' existing levels. Guilds which had fighting.range.bow as a

primary now have fighting.range.fired instead.

* We have removed both people.culture.djelian and people.culture.ephebian, and

moved existing levels into the new s...

Pack Saddle Fixes, posted on Sun Feb 13 16:49:43 2022

Fixed a bug allowing horses to temporarily carry infinite amounts of weight. There is now a soft cap of 100% burden where you won't be able to put any more items on and a hard cap of 150% burden which can't be exceeded.

Fixed a bug that was making the item limit on pack saddles not work. Previously, you could put more than 10 items on the pack saddle but the horse would fumble the extra; now you just can't put any more on when you reach 10.

Fixed a bug that allowed putting continuous items li...

The quest listings page on the website has been updated to allow you to split the listings into completed and uncompleted quests.

Relatedly, the quest command in the MUD, when invoked as "quest list all" or "quest list <area>" now defaults to dividing the list into completed and uncompleted. If you want the old behaviour, you can get it by using the syntax "quest list interleaved all" or "quest list interleaved <area>".
