How do I read a book/scroll/newspaper?
Your first book that you will ever receive on Discworld is the Newbie Information Booklet. It is full of wonderful information all about the different Gods on Discworld.

The book help file explains how to read a book in detail. For our basic needs, all you really need to know are three things:

  • Opening a book:

To open a book use the syntax: 'open book', or, 'open book to page '.

  • Turning the page:

A most exciting part of the world of books is that of turning pages. Who knows what is on the other side? You do! With the syntax:

    turn page of
    turn pages of
    turn to page of
    turn to [page]

  • Reading the book:

Actually reading the book is even easier: 'read book'. That's all there is to it!

Take note, however, that many things may be written in languages you do not understand. You will need to learn that language before you are able to both read and comprehend what they say.
