(Answer) (Category) Discworld Faq-O-Matic : (Category) Finding Help :
Will I lose the newbie channel when I'm not a newbie anymore? What will I do then?
One thing you will be told regularly on Discworld is that 'newbie is a state of mind'. However, you will lose your newbie command once you reach eighteen hours of age. By then, you are expected to have faced all of those things which are most commonly discussed on the newbie channel.

If you still have lots of newbie questions after you reach eighteen hours of age, you can give the newbiehelpers a tell. They can be listed with the helpers command. If none are on, use the liaisons command to see which liaisons are online, and give one of them a tell.

The thing is, the newbie channel isn't the only resource you have. By the time you lose it, you should have gained your talker and probably joined a guild. Asking on you guild's channel, or an open one if you aren't in one yet, is a sure way to get the answers you need. As long as you are polite, there will be knowledgeable people happy to help you out.
